Good morning everyone! Although the city fields are open unfortunately our field remains closed until further notice. This is the message that all users have received from Innovation Park! I will not know whether or not we are playing next week until late Monday hopefully. They have not stated when the meeting will take place. They have now involved Queens Maintenance department which probably has no real history of the field and the condition the field is usually in. I am hopeful that they will be meeting on Monday and I will be involved in the discussion along with Gord Lever of the soccer group. Sorry I do not have great news about the field.
In the mean time I have been able to secure the Tindall field all day Saturday on June 11 at Queens. I need to know if you are able to field a team for the day? I am also trying to secure two fields at LaSalle for the same day and if that happens we will run two games at once and would then not play at Queens. All teams will play minimum two games. I need all captains to respond to this email by Friday night and let me know if your team can play. So please take the time to call all your players. We realize that not all teams will have 100% participation but most teams don't throughout the season.
To all teams who have register for the Kingston Limestone Classic June 25,26. If you have been paying attention to the other tournaments teams have paid for tournaments but have been denied entrance into the tournament. I will work hard to ensure that our teams are in the Kingston tournament but at the end of the day I unfortunately do not control who they allow in our tournament. Obviously I am sensitive to the teams who paid and did not get in last year. I hope this does not happen again.
I believe the teams wanting to play are Tony's Pizza, Jakk Tuesday's, The Pilot House and my team Kingston Vikings.
I will be speaking with Ed early next week as TFONT are in Brampton this weekend.
